Redot identity guidelines 2026

Small tools.
Open by design.

Version 1.0
September 2026

A visual system for an ecosystem of focused, independent tools—made to be taken, used, and built upon.

01 — The idea

One open form.
One focused point.

The open structure is Redot: an ecosystem of reusable building blocks with room for others to enter, adapt, and extend.

The red dot is each thing we make—small enough to stay focused, useful enough to stand on its own. It moves outward because our tools belong in the wider web, not behind a wall.

The open form

A reusable building block with nothing sealed off. It represents software people can inspect, adapt, and make their own.

02 Focused output

The red dot

One tool with one clear purpose. Small, deliberate, and independent enough to work wherever developers need it.

Together

Useful things,
released into the open.

Redot gives each project a place to begin—not a boundary it has to stay inside.

02 — The marks

A mark for
every scale.

Use the complete logo when introducing Redot. Use the symbol and icon where space—or familiarity—allows.

Clear space

Give the mark room to work.

Keep at least one dot-width of clear space around every side. Never let type, edges, or other graphics enter this area.

03 — Usage

Keep it
intentional.

Consistency protects recognition. Preserve the geometry, contrast, and calm built into the mark.

Do
Correct Redot logo use

Use approved artwork with strong contrast and generous space.

Don’t ×
Distorted Redot logo example

Stretch, compress, rotate, redraw, or rearrange any part of the mark.

Don’t ×
Low contrast logo example

Place the mark on busy imagery or colors that compromise contrast.

Don’t ×
Incorrect all-red logo example

Use red as decoration everywhere. Red is reserved for the point of focus.

04 — Color

Red is the point,
not the noise.

The palette stays neutral so one deliberate red element can carry meaning and attention.

Recommended balance

Build small.
Keep it open.
Make it useful.
